After a wild 2015 of trekking gorillas and chimpanzees, searching for polar bears, taking selfies with penguins, swimming with whale sharks, and diving with great white sharks, I didn’t know what to focus on for my 2016 bucket list. I want to continue exploring the world and experiencing new countries and cultures, but I want to spent more time with my family and discovering my new backyard – California. That’s a huge list Lesley! No visit to Vegas aye? Certainly not to the Strip, we live here and never go down there! Wishing you and your family a safe 2016 🙂
Happy New Year, John!
We love Vegas and the strip but I’m trying to visit every state in the US and I’m still missing a couple.
What’s on your list this year? Do you have something planned or something you’re dreaming about?
Your passion for adventure wins out but it sounds wonderful to spend time with family and friends in California. Lots to do and adventures to be had here.
That’s why we love living here so much. I’m planning a trip to San Francisco with Athena at the end of the month and then we hope to do a long road trip in the state at least every two months. There’s plenty to keep us busy here. 🙂
You’ve got a great list. Love all the California adventures. It’s a great start. It’s a great place to be since there is always so much more to explore, I’ve been here 20 years and still have so many more places to see.
What’s your favorite place to explore in California?
We can’t even get to half that many destinations in a year. You’re lucky to have so much time to see the world. Great activity list!
Who knows if I will get to them all but it’s always great to dream big and try to accomplish as much as possible. What’s on the top of your list this year?
Wow! You had an action-packed 2015 and looks like you’ll be having another action-packed year to follow! I’d also love to do a Hot Air Balloon flight. I hope you can cross off all of the items on your lists!
I’ve been in a hot air balloon before, but not here in California. I’d love to soar over wine country with a glass of red in my hand and the California mountains below. 🙂
I always start out with too many things on my list and I never know if I will cross them all off but it’s a beautiful dream and a blast trying to make them all a reality.
What tops your list this year?
That is an awesome list. When are you going to Brazil, February for Carnevale or summer for the Olympics? Thinking of Bulgaria this year as well. Athena is going to have an epic 2016 herself! Have a geat time!!
I love your love for adventure! I want to do some canyoning, ride around Cuba on a scooter, hike in the Southeast Asian jungle, skydive, and paraglide in Iceland. I’m also teaching my nephews how to ski, so good luck with Athena! Right now, we are in the let’s see how fast we can get down the slopes phase. Which means, Auntie Jackie spends a lot of time racing after them making sure no one lands in a ditch! 🙂
Fun post. I can’t recommend swimming with the beluga whales in Churchill, Manitoba enough. It was astounding. Oh, and Seychelles is fantastic, too. And Zambia – Victoria Falls! The one thing on your list that really intrigues me, however, is the Skunk Train through the redwoods. Say wha???? Now it’s on my list, too – whatever the heck it is. Sounds so fun.
Great list! I love your passion for the outdoors and adventure! Traveling by campervan has always been a dream for me, one day 🙂
I look forward to following you along in 2016 as you mark everything off your list 🙂
After writing my first book and creating amazing, fun videos for my Motherpreneur TV web show and finally for friends and first clients I created my first official business here in Canada, Motherpreneur Productions! WooPee, here we go!
Four travel plans on the horizon already! A high five to us for new Adventures in 2016!!!
Let’s do this!
There are so many beautiful destinations on your list for this year! So jealous of the air balloon ride you’re planning to do. Sounds like 2016 is going to be incredible for you!! Good luck with everything 🙂
What a list! You forgot to put ‘Meet Joe from Joeographt’ on there 😉 that would be an adventure in itself haha! I look forward to your post and following along vicariously! Happy travels and here’s to 2016!
